Looking for love?

A couple of nights ago, my love interest sent me this SMS message:

We look for love

Not because it's lonely to be watching movies alone

Not because it's sad to eat meals on your own

Not because it's nice to cuddle up with someone rainy days

We look for love

Because we want to be accepted

For the sloppy way we dress

For the clumsy way we eat our meals

For bad hair days

For the simplicity in us

Love is an act of acceptance

That with all our imperfections

We are still loved.

It's funny that out of all the persons to send me that message, it had to be her. I just want to share that this message, despite its simplicity in nature, is still by far one of the best messages I've read so far.

And it holds true for all of us. Sometimes only a handful of people know the true meaning of love, what it's like to feel and share the love. Some believe that love is only an excuse for sex. Pathetic point of view, I might say.

But for those that really know what true love feels, how happy it can make them feel and how hurt they'll end up, are the ones that really know how to live life and appreciate love. It's also amazing how love can come in unexpectedly in your life, in different circumstances, in different times, and this is the best part when it comes to falling in love; "that with all our imperfections, we are still loved."

Love really is an act of acceptance. We accept for who our partner was, who our partner is and who our partner isn't. Love is an act of compromise, that sometimes a little sacrifice is needed from both sides.

Love will always have its ups and downs, its happy and sad moments. But what's important is that there will always be somebody to share your life with.
